The game was made back in 1981 and released to the public under the konami company.
When the game war first made, the original name was “Highway crossing frog”, after which it was ‘translated’ to Frogger.
It is inspired by real life, i.e. creator of the game, Seamus Blackley, came up with the idea after witnessing a case where frogs cross the street and try to avoid cars.
In 2005, Frogger entered the guinnes book of records for one of the most played arcade machines of all time. Over 20,000 Frogger arcade machines have been sold.
